Movianto takes over central Europe logistics for CSL Behring
Movianto has set up a central European distribution centre for the logistics and distribution of CSL Behring's pharmaceutical products. As one of the leading providers of logistics and distribution services to the pharmaceutical, biotechnology and healthcare industry in Europe, Movianto ensures the storage and Europe-wide distribution of the manufacturer's blood plasma products and guarantees that the cool chain for this highly-sensitive products is not interrupted at any point.
In addition to its location and the quality of the service it provides, the fact that Movianto's European distribution centre guarantees deliveries within the agreed times was a decisive factor in CSL Behring's choice. CSL Behring was also won over by the central IT platform Movianto Prince: It provides a high level of transparency across the entire supply chain, as relevant data like stock levels, for example, can be called up in real time via standard interfaces and reports.
"Further to this our reasons for choosing Movianto were" commented Uli Kiefer, Senior Director Global Logistics at CSL Behring, "that during the whole process of warehousing and distribution all product requirements, for example, permanent temperature control, are met."
Movianto is responsible for all tasks across the supply chain for CSL Behring: from goods entry to cool storage via pick & pack and dispatch to cool chain transportation to pharmacies and hospitals in Austria, Denmark and Germany. Additionally Movianto will supply other warehouses throughout Europe.
In order to meet the constantly growing demand for cool storage, Movianto in Germany has expanded the warehouse in Neunkirchen by 2,000 cool pallet storage units thus guaranteeing that the cold chain is not interrupted at any time. In the warehouse itself a permanent temperature monitoring guarantees the constant cooling from 2 to 8ºC.
