Movianto further expands central European warehouse in Neunkirchen Saarland/Germany
8 million Euro invested in the expansion of warehousing capacity

By the end 2009, the pharmaceutical logistics company Movianto will have expanded its warehouse capacity in Saarland’s Neunkirchen to 13,900 palette spaces. This totals the third expansion to date: In 2007 Movianto had increased its cool storage space, last year the warehouse space storing controlled drugs was also increased. The groundbreaking ceremony took place on 25th March 2009.
The volume of investment for the new fully automatic high bay racking warehouse amounts to 8 million Euro. The building is to be 32m high thus nearly doubling the warehouse capacity of Movianto at the Neunkirchen location: In fact, this new warehouse together with the second location in Kist, offer a total of 35,000 air conditioned spaces. For Alexander Paasch, spokesperson for the management board at the Movianto Group, this shows that the healthcare logistics company is consistently adhering to the strategy it has been following over the last few years: “The services we offer to meet the demands of the pharmaceutical industry are tailor-made and these bespoke logistics and distribution models for our clients have now paid off.”
With the expansion of the capacity, Movianto is reacting to the continually increasing demand from the international pharmaceutical industry for innovative outsourcing warehousing and distribution solutions. The infrastructure in Neunkirchen makes it the best possible location as a central European distribution centre to serve clients from the pharmaceutical, biotechnology and healthcare industry. The main benefit for Movianto’s clients is that stock for several countries can be gathered here thus allowing cost savings to be realised.
