Movianto extends its European central warehouse in Neunkirchen, Saarland, Germany

Following a construction phase with a duration of one year, Movianto is now opening its extended European central warehouse located in Neunkirchen, in the Saarland region, on schedule. Movianto, a logistics service provider specialising in pharmaceuticals and healthcare, has built this new facility to provide almost 14,000 additional pallet storage spaces for its international clients. Approximately one third of the new capacity has already been allocated as the demand for outsourcing solutions for European pharmaceutical logistics is ever increasing.
With the new fully-automatic high-bay warehouse, Movianto will double its storage capacity at the Neunkirchen site. For Thomas Creuzberger, the Managing Director of Movianto Deutschland, this is the next logical step in expanding Movianto's successful business model: ‘For numerous clients, the central warehouse in Neunkirchen is the hub for European logistics for their entire range of products. With its network of subsidiaries in 13 European countries, Movianto has created the infrastructure necessary to implement an individual distribution model for each client.’
The main benefit provided by the central European distribution centre in Neunkirchen to clients from the pharmaceutical, biotechnology and healthcare industries is that it allows them to store stock destined for multiple countries in the same location. This reduces costs and allows efficient distribution. As Movianto offers a wide range of services along the entire supply chain in addition to warehousing and distribution, customised logistics outsourcing solutions can be created as required.
The volume of investment for the 32-metre-high new warehouse amounts to 8 million euros. In addition, the pallet handling technology was upgraded and accelerated in the course of the construction work. With Neunkirchen and the second site in Kist, Movianto’s clients currently have access to a total of around 35,000 temperature controlled pallet storage spaces within Germany.
