"Movianto" - a new brand for Celesio's logistics services for the healthcare industry

Celesio AG, Europe's leading pharmaceutical trading company, has renamed its logistics and distribution business unit from the provisional name AVS Health Distribution to "Movianto". The group's subsidiaries from eight European countries that offer logistics services to the pharmaceutical and healthcare industry have been grouped together under the new umbrella brand. "Our customers are operating in more than one country. Using only one name makes it clear to them that we always offer the same level of quality, the same expertise from a single source, regardless of which of our nine subsidiaries they are working with," says Managing Director Conor Roche. Customers can choose, for example, whether they wish to have central solutions for the whole of Europe or local solutions for their individual markets.

"In the face of globalisation, increasing competition and continuing governmental intervention, pharmaceutical manufacturers must place greater focus on their core business in order to be successful," observes Conor Roche. "Movianto offers pharmaceutical and healthcare manufacturers innovative outsourcing services so that they are able to optimise their supply chain and service offerings, whilst focusing upon their key competencies at the same time."

Movianto, a business unit of the Celesio Solutions business division, now looks after more than 400 international customers, including the ten largest pharmaceutical companies in the world. The range of services on offer includes storage, transportation, cool chain logistics and management, as well as customer-specific services, such as re-packaging or relabelling. Movianto provides services to the pharmaceutical and healthcare industry, as well as to authorities and state institutions.

In addition to further expansion within Europe, Movianto's growth strategy also envisages investments, such as the construction of new warehouses in Ireland and the Czech Republic.

The subsidiaries grouped under Movianto are: Sanova Pharma (Austria), Realpol (Czech Republic), DGX Pharma (France), Sanalog Logistik (Germany), Healthcare Logistics (Great Britain) and Castlereagh Pharmaceuticals (Northern Ireland), Seur Pharma (Spain) and the AVS divisions of Cahill May Roberts (Ireland) and NMD Grossisthandel (Norway).
