Movianto expands network to cover nine European countries
Stuttgart, 31 August 2006
Movianto, a subsidiary of Celesio, Europe's leading pharmaceutical
distribution company, can go ahead as planned with the integration
of the logistics division of Danish company Tjellesen. The
authorities had approved the acquisition of K.V. Tjellesen
A/S by Celesio AG in June 2006.
Tjellesen's logistics division provides the pharmaceutical
and healthcare industry with a range of logistic service
offerings including storage, repackaging, pick & pack,
invoicing and delivery to wholesalers, hospital pharmacies
and other parties within the healthcare sector. The logistics
division is currently being integrated into the Celesio
subsidiary Movianto.
With Tjellesen, Movianto has strengthened its European network
and now can not only serve Denmark, but also can offer Nordic
distribution solutions for the entire Nordic region, as
well as the Baltics. In addition, this development complements
the already existing Movianto presence in Norway. In future,
the Group will provide logistics and distribution services
across a network of nine European countries to its international
clients - including the ten largest pharmaceutical companies
in the world.
The subsidiaries grouped under Movianto are: Sanova Pharma
(Austria), Movianto Ceská republika (Czech Republic),
DGX Pharma (France), Sanalog Logistik (Germany), Healthcare
Logistics and Castlereagh Pharmaceuticals (United Kingdom),
SEUR Pharma (Spain) as well as the Movianto divisions of
K.V. Tjellesen (Denmark), Cahill May Roberts (Ireland) and
NMD Grossisthandel (Norway).
